The melody of the song fully contradicts the meaning behind “homesoon.” Bright and airy vocals combined with an upbeat tempo gives the song juxtaposition between lyrics and tone. The Florida indie-rock band draws on synth-heavy influences from St. Lucia to The Wombats; Utilizing synth and guitar fusion, The Forum creates excitement within this pop-rock track. Although the lyrics dive deeper into the substantial and troubled worries of surviving long-distance relationships, “homesoon” ensures that the listener walks away feeling lighter and more confident in moving past the harder aspects of the situation.
