The alt-rock band hailing from Kansas City, The Greeting Committee, has just released a newly vibrant single, “Can I Leave Me Too?” The band formed in 2014 consists of Addie Sartino (front woman), Brandon Yangmi (guitarist), Pierce Turcotte (bassist), and Austin Fraser (drummer). They released their debut EP entitled It’s Not All That Bad in 2015, and soon after, signed to Harvest Records. With other EP’s, Meeting People Is Easy and I’m Afraid I’m Not Angry, The Greeting Committee has been on a roll with all things music!

In their latest release, “Can I Leave Me Too?”, The Greeting Committee introduces the music community to an immensely intimate and radiant new single. Following the timeline of grief after a messy breakup, the song blends the pain of loss with an upbeat vibe. Addie Sartino’s magical vocals mixed with an interesting beat and energetic guitar creates an intricate and lively song. With lyrics, “lost in waiting, can’t eat, can’t sleep. Days on days end,” the song introduces the cloud of heartbreak prevalent throughout the single. Sartino explains, “That song holds a lot of desperation-- it’s definitely about that moment when your self-esteem is just gone.”

The music video for “Can I Leave Me Too?” reinforces the haze of post-heartbreak grief. Following front woman, Addie Sartino, through different locations, it shows how everyday and every moment can become a blur when in so much pain. With close-ups of Sartino brushing her teeth and wandering through repeated settings, it is meant to demonstrate the constant dragging of time.

The Greeting Committee has toured with bands such as Hippo Campus, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Bombay Bicycle Club, and Tennis, and have even been featured on the Netflix film, To All The Boys: Always and Forever. Their constant success and creation of amazing music is just the beginning for The Greeting Committee’s road in music.
