The Latest from Marcelo Deiss on "Gridlock"

Gritty, alt-rock artist Marcelo Deiss has released three new tracks that bring light to ordinary occurrences. “Gridlock” is full of sharp guitar chords that will catch your ear and make you bop along to the track. The music video for the track, which was directed and edited by Sergio Angot has garnered thousands of views since being released. The video follows Deiss throughout a city through different angles and shots. Deiss has seasoned vocals that exude true grit and passion, which can be heard through all of his songs whether he is singing in English or Portugese. In “MEDO”, Deiss demonstrates his versatility as a multi-lingual artist as he showcases his ability to combine both languages within a song. It flows smoothly and is almost unrecognizable, making for a perfect song to listen to on a long drive.

Things continue to stay mellow for the last single, which sounds like it could be in the background of a movie. The track is gritty and has a mix of bass and synth that carry the track. There is just something about a song that evokes a certain emotion and happiness, especially with “My_Home”. The London-based artist mixes sounds such as blues, rock and indie together just right. Deiss is inspired by Wilco and Jimi Hendrix, lacing his lyrics with politically themed lyrics dealing with oppression, greed and social alienation. Just close your eyes and get lost in the music, it will truly take you on a journey.
