Eva Under Fire - Artist of the Week (09.13)

Eva Under Fire is a 5-piece hard rock and metal band from Detroit, Michigan. The group is fronted by Amanda Lyberg, who goes by Eva Marie, and joined by her band consisting of Rob Lyberg (Guitar), Corey Newsom (Drums), Chris Slapnik (Guitar and vocals), and Ed Gawlik III (Bass and vocals).  Their sound is a mix of rock, metal and pop, with some punk influence mixed in.  Each song is different from the last and creates a new layer to Eva Under Fire.

When they perform live, Eva’s energy explodes off of the stage in electrifying pulses.  Her voice is powerful and emotive, bringing the audience along for the ride.  Whether she is screaming at the audience, or serenading them with a ballad, the band is in the moment.   

Their song “Heroine” is special to them.  It is about the realization that you can’t save someone if they won’t save themself.  Amanda wrote this song to share her story about a family member who lost a battle with drugs. Released in June is their latest track, “Blow”, featuring Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills.
