Hayden Joseph - Artist of the Week (03.15)

Hayden Joseph is an artist with a hope of changing the face of country music. As an out LGBT musician, Hayden has come up against a pretty heavy stereotype wall in the industry. Challenging the stereotype of country music being about beer, women, and trucks, Joseph writes music based on a platform of returning country music to the way it used to be; when songs had stories that were universal.  

Notably tapping into his more sensitive side, Joseph continuously shows he is not afraid to be more vulnerable with his songwriting. Reminiscent of the early 90’s and drawing inspiration from the likes of Taylor Swift, Joseph sings of longing and heartbreak all while combining country and pop sounds to create songs that anyone can relate to. This vulnerability with his emotions and combination of genres has since garnered over 30,000 followers on TikTok.  

Since his early childhood, Joseph has always been singing. Despite picking up songwriting while he was in middle school, it wasn’t until around three years ago that he began to record and release his original songs. His singles have accumulated over 200,000 streams, one of which is titled “Different” - an honest and self reflective track detailing his own journey of coming out and accepting himself for who he is.

With a smooth voice and a strong vision, Hayden Joseph is set to turn the country music world on its head.
