SEB - Artist of the Week (06.07)

There are artists that just sneak up on you, and bedroom pop artist SEB is certainly one of them. SEB grew up in Chicago, getting his first taste in music with his middle school rap group. However, it wasn’t until he interned at NYC’s Electric Lady Studios in college that he decided to take his artistry seriously, and made the move to LA.

Since then, SEB has released a handful of singles, including “THEY DON’T LIKE ME”, “Coney Island” and “seaside_demo” this year. While it may not seem like it on the surface, SEB’s music tackles his struggles with mental health and his identity, wrapped up in a familiar and comforting indie sound. On his latest single, “seaside_demo”, SEB wrote, produced, and engineered it from his bedroom. His decision to release it as a demo adds to his realness as an artist. SEB noted, “I literally want people to hear me and all my flaws”.

With his over 300K followers on TikTok and millions of streams across streaming services, clearly I’m not the only one who has been drawn to SEB’s music. It’s only a matter of time until this up and coming artist blows up.

SEB debut EP IT’S OKAY, WE’RE DREAMING is set to release this summer. In the meantime, you can find his latest music video for “seaside_demo” on Youtube now, and stream his music on all digital platforms today.
