Consisting of a young and diverse mix of musicians, Bluphoria’s music borders on pop rock and alternative genres, with the essence of psych, surf, and funk found throughout their discography. Following the release of “Something More” and “Conscientious Debauchery” at the end of 2020, Bluphoria is back with their latest release, “Set Me Up,” throwing themselves straight into the 2022 music scene with an explosive new single!
The exciting start to the song features guitar riffs that capture your attention from the opening notes. “Set Me Up” highlights Bluphoria’s rock and pop mastery, bridging the gap between an established genre and a new generation of fans. The band consists of wildly young talent, with the oldest being only 22. However, their sound is cohesive, intriguing, and fluent despite their age; showing off their skill as a band, as a team, and as an influential rock and alt band.
With Dani on the drums, the song is endlessly entertaining. The rhythm and beat forces an alluring sound which hypes the listeners up at the same time as cohesively mixing with the other instruments. Reign’s wicked vocals and mastery on guitar are prevalent throughout “Set Me Up,” as well, and create a vibrant sound when united with the energetic melodies from both Dakota and Rex.
Bending the expectations of the genre, Bluphoria’s latest release, “Set Me Up” incorporates a variety of influences, and demonstrates the band’s musical sound and creativity. Recorded and produced alongside Grammy winner, Mark Needham (The Killers, Imagine Dragons, Fleetwood Mac), the single rounds out Bluphoria’s unique new sound, and will be a driving force in the alt-rock scene!
