Enter a "Fever Dream" with Palaye Royale's Latest Record

Palaye Royale released their fourth album, Fever Dream on October 28, 2022. This art-rock band has unveiled a body of work that explores the depths of their vulnerability and shows the work they have done to be a better band and brothers to each other.

There have always been comparisons made of Palaye Royale to the likes of My Chemical Romance. Fever Dream is not an exclusion to that comparison. While they have similar overall themes that go into play in Fever Dream and Welcome To The Black Parade (i.e. death and dealing with mental struggles), it takes away from the originality of the album when those comparisons are constantly made. Palaye Royale has an extremely unique sound that is not being made in most music right now. Fever Dream is a great example of an album that explores varying degrees of mental health issues that so many endure accompanied by the alt-rock sound they are so good at producing. It helps create a community of people who feel seen and welcomed in this harsh world.

This emotionally rich record has songs that every fiber of raw vulnerability oozes out. Some favorites off of Fever Dream are “Oblivion”, “Line It Up” (feat. LP), “Eternal Life”, “Broken”, “Fever Dream” and “No Love in LA”. Well-thought-out lyrics and beautiful imagery in the numerous music videos help portray the picture that this band wanted to paint for their fans. They have said they dove into the process of making this album and escaped from reality a bit, and hoped that fans could relate and do the same. If you are a long-time fan of Palaye Royale or are just getting into them, Fever Dream is an incredible piece of work to listen to and escape reality.
