Surf Mesa is the Artist to Watch in 2023 with Single, “City of Love”

Surf Mesa has some of the most fun and electrifying music out right now. Stunned by tracks such as “Another Life,” “ily(I love you baby),” and “Carried Away," the man's talent is unmatched, especially at the ripe age of 22. I tapped into his music around 2021 through countless Spotify playlists and artist recommendations. Hearing his tracks at parties and raves around the city of Philadelphia, you can tell he knows how to draw a crowd in an instant with his distinct style of music. With details such as this, it makes sense why he is getting so much notability, even having sources such as Spin call him a “fresh talent who’s well on his way to becoming a household name”.

Surf Mesa’s newest single, “City of Love” is an infectious dance track with an amazing story involved. With beautiful vocals by the one and only Selah Sol, the song talks about two artists starting fresh in a new city. This is a topic many of us can relate to on a personal level, and allows for a deeper connection between the artist and the listeners to be made. While talking about the collaboration, Surf Mesa says that “my heart has taken its time to sit with this song for a while now. I first heard the vocal from Selah Sol in October of 2021 and I spent that same night in the studio, drawing my imagination to audio. Countless versions and revisions have been made until this one and I could not be more ready to share it with the world!! This song resonates with my life and sonic sound to a T and I hope it resonates with listeners, too.”

With this being his first song to kick off the new year, I’m excited to see what else he has in store for the rest of 2023.
