Stormstress is a power-trio from the Boston, Massachusetts area. They formed in 2019 out of the ashes of a previous project they were in together. Co-fronting the band, twin sisters Tanya Venom (lead vocals and guitar) and Tia Mayhem (lead vocals and bass) use their talents to create melodic metal magic. Rounding out the sound is Maddie May Scott on drums and backing vocals. The three women all have a hand in creating lyrics, melodies and music for their songs. Together, they advocate for self-empowerment and knowing one’s truth through their lyrics.

Their latest release, “You Can’t Hurt Me Now” seeks to give listeners the strength to overcome a toxic situation and remove themselves from it. It was produced by Liz Borden and Sarah Fitzpatrick, and recorded at the Den Studios of North Reading. The track does an exemplary job at highlighting each member’s musical talents. Tanya flies across the fretboard on her golden guitar amplifying the message of the song while Tia lays down bass grooves adding layers to the message. Keeping everything on point is Maddie May Scott, sending the strength at the listener with every beat.

Along with the track, they released a theatrical video showcasing their freedom as they drive down the road in a convertible. To give the video more dimension, some shots were done via drone and a camera on the dash. The video was done by Fuel Heart Productions with Troncat FPV on the drone.

A metal song with melodic choruses that enables listeners to clearly understand and receive the message. This song creates awareness of unhealthy relationships while expressing the need to take control of the situation, allowing it to become a battle cry for self awareness and strength.
