The UK based, genre-less, indie band MYRIAD is planning to take the music world by storm within this year. The band consists of lead singer David, bassist Jared, guitarist OJ, and drummer Oscar. Although the four are still relatively small and do not have a manager or a record label, there is nothing stopping this quartet from getting their name out there, and with their current following of 56.9K on TikTok they are doing just that. On the platform you can find them taking part in popular trends and promoting their music.

MYRIAD carries a similar sound and vibe as The 1975, but with their own twist. They give you that groovy guitar sound that we all know and love but still give you the pop punk fix that you thought you needed. Their songs “A Little Longer” and “Afterglow” make them the perfect band if you are looking for new music to add to your rotation in 2021. In their most recent release “Afterglow”, they talk about the pressures of being on social media and the glorification of influencers and artists. They talk about how on a platform you have to present yourself in a certain way in order to conform, which brings light to the question of whether you still love and support them if you saw them in their more natural appearance, or their ‘afterglow’. With lyrics such as, “There’s so many faces, living the dream like nothing is wrong”, they draw back to how the people you see on social media choose what you get to see and that it could all be a mirage.

On their social medias, they consistently interact with fans and hold Q and A’s on their instagram stories, hyping followers up on a future song titled “3 a.m.” and updating you on what’s to come of MYRIAD in the future, including live shows after Covid-19 and their first album.
