Jordan Michelle Unveils Her Punk Side with "have a nice life."

Los Angeles based artist, Jordan Michelle, started off the new year with a highly charismatic new single, “have a nice life.” Following her 2021 debut, “Tear Me Down,” Jordan is once again back with another crazy, electro-pop track. Drawing inspiration from the iconic Gwen Stefani to pop-punk legends, Green Day, “have a nice life.” unveils Jordan’s punk-inspired side while showing off her powerful vocals.

Starting off with a catchy beat and entertaining vocal harmonies, “have a nice life.” has listeners tapping their foot right from the get-go. Shifting to the chorus, Jordan utilizes a fast-paced, chaotic beat mixed with distorted guitars and electronics to increase the energy and show off her vocal abilities. With lyrics, “So here’s a toast to my life without you, I will be alright without you,” Jordan is announcing her relieving experience in letting go of a friend. Her lyrical and writing choices are wild and exciting, to the point where I wanted to scream and shout by the end of the song.

“I felt like I gave voice to what the anger wanted to say without actually saying it to the person who I wrote it about. It's okay to express the things you want to say to someone who wronged you. We've all felt this way about someone at some point even if we didn't want to admit it, and I think people will be able to relate to the lyrics in this song. Whether you had a breakup with a romantic partner, friend or family member, these lyrics can apply to you."

With the release of “have a nice life.,” Jordan also created a music video for the single, working with the Emmy-nominated director Rick Wayne. The music video shows all of the chaos and rage Jordan is feeling throughout the song. Featuring multiple different settings and costumes from a jail cell to a bedroom to her band performing on a stage, the music video is nothing short of constant creativity and vibrancy. The video actively highlights Jordan’s crafty edge of entertaining the viewers with fun dance moves and expressions. The energy she elicits during the entirety of the video makes you want to get up and jump around with her.

“have a nice life.” is just the beginning of Jordan Michelle’s musical success.
