Tennessee Rock Group Lennox Hills Impresses Listeners with Double Single Release

The alternative rock band hailing from Tennessee, Lenox Hills, has released fresh music just in time for your fall playlists. With not only one new song, but the release of double singles, the quartet are no strangers to hard work and creativity. Both “Girls ‘Round Here’” and “I Feel It Coming On” are for fans of Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, and COIN alike. Made up of Luke Mullin (vocals/guitar), Packy Mullin (guitar), Kameron Dunn (bass), and Kyle Swenson (drums), the band formed in 2016 and have been growing their unique sound ever since.

In 2017, Lenox Hills released their debut EP, The Stricken Young, which consisted of a four song soundtrack. Developing their sound and music, the band dropped, “Names,” their second EP in 2020, along with a few singles such as “Sheepshank” and “Favorite Love Song.” As the quartet steps into the 2021 music scene, the double singles-”Girls ‘Round Here’” and “I Feel It Coming On”- are the first singles off their upcoming EP, and are leading up to the release day.

“This record is two years in the making, and while it has been a tough road at times, it has been a labor of love from start to finish.” -@lenoxhillsband on IG

Lenox Hills collaborated with producer Logan Matheny, who has worked with multiple artists including Jack White, Judah & The Lion, and Colony House. The band began the process of working on the record back in 2019, and have been growing and developing the project for the past two years, noting “the band has created a final product in 2021 that each member is proud of.”

Starting with the first of the double singles, “Girls ‘Round Here” starts off with a wildly exciting rock and roll vibe. The vocal range of lead singer, Luke Mullin, is notable throughout the pre-chorus where the guitar tends to mellow out slightly. The chorus utilizes a high tempo, energetic beat mixed with invigorating guitar and bass moments that make the song into a rollercoaster of intriguing moments.

“Girls ‘Round Here” is not only melodically vibrant, but the lyricism is lively. With lyrics, “You follow me sweetly, killing me softly” and “We could make it out alive, but you’re giving up, you give me nothing,” the single discusses hope for a love that is complicated by another romance.

On the other hand, “I Feel It Coming On” begins with an entertaining and soulful acoustic guitar picking. With more of a groovy rock sound, the single gives major Colony House vibes, and is the perfect adventure song. The vocals are once again on point with the drums, but the major musical point of the song is found in the guitar and the bass lines. With both having a captivating rhythm, followed by a thrilling guitar solo, “I Feel It Coming On” is full of surprises. The track is a melodious love song, with lyrics that capture the energy of a wild romance.

“Don’t even know my name, But I’m on your mind most of the time.”

Right from the start of “I Feel It Coming On” to the transition from “Girls ‘Round Here,” Lenox Hills show off their skill in diverse songwriting. The double singles are dripping with creativity and highlighting their dynamic in producing music that encapsulates their essence as a band.

As an introduction to their upcoming EP, the band could not have made a better first impression. Their overall musicality, rhythm, and electric sound are actively featured throughout the tracks “Girls ‘Round Here” and “I Feel It Coming On.” With their captivating double single release, Lenox Hills is a lively alt-rock band that should be on everyone’s radar!
